In 1989, the Virginia Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America partnered with the New Guinea Islands District of Papua New Guinea Evangelical Lutheran Church to build and strengthen the ministry of God around the world. St. Michael is partnered with Soi Lutheran Church in Bialla. The following pictures are from a synod trip in 2008 and include pictures of Soi Lutheran Church and their pastor. In 2009, St. Michael will be sending $500 to help Soi place a new roof on their church building.
