Service Projects

Serving Our Local Community

Pack-a-Sack

In 2020, St. Mark learned that 25 students on our campus who attend Discovery Academy of Science, were facing food insecurity on the weekends. They were receiving breakfast and lunch at school during the week, but their families didn’t have access to sufficient food on the weekends. So St. Mark is now lending a helping hand to help fill hungry bellies through our Pack-a-Sack program. Each week, volunteers pack weekend meals for students in need. The food is then distributed to students before they go home for the weekend. If you would like more information about this ministry and how to volunteer or support it financially, contact our Team Leader – Connie Feig.

Bags of Blessings

St. Mark is involved with a number of service projects to the community. Bags of Blessing is a program whereby parishioners bring bags of food each month to be donated to one of the local food pantries. St. Mark donates to FEAST, as God gives us the opportunity to share our blessings with those who are hungry.

Outreach

Serving Our Greater Community

ELCA Disaster Response

Through the ELCA Disaster Response, members of St. Mark assist those affected by storms, earthquakes and other natural disasters. Click the button below to make a donation or to find out what our church is doing for disaster relief around the world.

Noisy Offerings

Whenever there are five Sundays in a month, we receive a special offering designated for an outreach ministry. Worshipers bring change (and currency) and drop their gifts into metal buckets to make a joyful noise of generosity.

Some past Noisy Offerings have benefited ELCA Disaster Response, Lutheran World Relief and Hurricane Matthew relief efforts, the ELCA Malaria campaign, the Mission Possible Campaign which was dedicated to the upkeep and expansion of Luther Springs and Lutherock Camps, and Tanzania Missionaries for the building of a children’s hospital in that country.

Beach Outreach Group

Beach Outreach

We are excited that a Beach Outreach ministry is newly forming at St. Mark! A group from our congregation feels passionate about expressing welcome and hospitality on the beaches close to our church. The Dunedin Causeway is just a mile away from our campus and acts as a great location for watching the sunset, going on walks or bike rides, or playing in or along St. Joseph Sound. Our church has a group that regularly gathers for prayer and devotion and then walks along the Causeway handing out free water bottles – planting seeds of welcome and kindness along the way. We’d love to have you join us in this new outreach opportunity.
