Pastor Katy Fast grew up in Wichita, Kansas in the Lutheran Church. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry from Bethany College (ELCA) in Lindsborg, Kansas and a Master of Divinity from The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. She served for one year as a volunteer in a small village in Slovakia teaching English and serving in a Lutheran church. While doing her pastoral internship in Bradenton, Florida she met her husband Bryan, a native of New Port Richey, Florida. Her first call was as Associate Pastor at First Lutheran Church in Topeka, Kansas where she focused on Youth and Family ministry. Her second call was as a chaplain working for Gulfside Hospice in Pasco County, FL. Pastor Katy and Bryan moved to Palm Harbor when she was called to serve here at St. Mark in 2016. Bryan is a civil engineer and is working part time while their two children – John (9) and Luke (5) are young. The Fasts enjoy traveling, camping, reading, and visiting parks and beaches together as a family. Pastor Katy is so happy to be serving the people of St. Mark Lutheran Church.

Our Minister of Music, Mark Fettke is a native of Alva, Oklahoma, Mark graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University with a B.S. degree in Secondary Music – choral conducting and a minor in Voice and Piano. His Master of Education degree in Choral Conducting was completed through Phillips University (a Disciples of Christ college) in Enid, Oklahoma.

After college, he moved to Los Angeles where he taught high school music, directed church choirs and played the organ part-time as well as spending many years teaching English as a Second Language in East L.A.

Later, and living in Oregon, he became a TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) teacher and administrator at Oregon State University.  He was a part-time organist and choir master as well.

He has more than twenty years of experience as an organist and/or choir director in sacred/spiritual settings and enjoys leading congregations in inspired anthems, liturgy, psalm and hymn settings.

He is married to Dolores (Dolly) Ianni, a Research Director and Analyst for Gartner, Inc., a fortune 500 company.  They’ve been married for more than 10 years.  He has a step son, Robert Ianni, who recently graduated from the University of South Florida and now works in the technology field.  Mark also has family who live in Lakeland, Florida – a brother, Steven Fettke, his wife, Tilly, and their children, Phillip, Stephanie and Sophia – her husband Brenton Huffaker.  Mark’s interests are his family, singing, composing music, digital music mixing, walking, reading, and sports.

Classically trained in the Robert Shaw school of choral conducting, he loves conducting/performing all kinds of music.  Whether it’s a simple Joyce Eilers’ pieces for two-part treble, or the Brahms Requiem, or a Taize chant, he feels it is essential to convey the spirit of piece that uplifts both performer and listener.  This focuses worship on the message of Jesus Christ to the world.
